Religion has a part to play in this but not a large one really. Sure Christians are disgusted at homosexuals, but Christianity is also filled with judgemental hypocrites and it is one of the main reasons for slavery. So really Christianity doesn't have a real part to play in someone not liking the acts of homosexuals.
