    I've been mapping for like maybe 2 months now started with Radiant and moved to basics of 3ds and I needed some questions answered.

    1. what is the maximum size of a map for gunz? both file size and actual like length, width height
    2. what is the official maximum amount of faces or polys or verts in a gunz map?
    3. what is the best way to model for gunz type maps?

    Uh thats not the problem, i simply didnt see this thread at all.

    1 -> almost as big as you want, theres a death line at a certain low level (around 6k default max units, i dont remember exactly atm).
    (Keep it within +/- 20k though, should be way enough space for you to make something)
    2 -> Poly limit is around 25k.
    3 -> ... just make em, make them open(!) and not tiny, places obstacles to hide behind etc.

    thank you very much but i read from Wucas that the max poly count was around 40k o.o is this true or is it really only 25k?

    Well, i say 25k because when i was working on my pavilion maps 3ds max version, everytime i got over 25k polys, parts of my map would disappear.
    So make of that what you want.
    Besides that, 25k polys is still a hell of alot polys to work with.

    Unless you have a huge ass map i doubt you are at 28k yet.
    Ofcourse you might have gone mid/high poly ... then its likely that you are at that count already.

    Well it takes about 74 dashes to reach one side so id say its huge.
