    An easy way to check is;

Control Panel > Programs and Features > View Installed Updates. - Or just type "installed updates" in the Start Menus search box. I'm assuming you're on Windows 7.
It probably has but I am not sure what this is supposed to tell me. and yes, I am on windows 7

Just trying to help narrow down the cause.

It seems like you've tried everything else so far so I'm wondering if there's any conflicts with recent system changes. The other thing that springs to mind is that something is either using or blocking the ports the launcher uses. I.e. A firewall etc. Either one on your computer, or your router (if you use one).

Easiest way to check if you are, if you can reach fgunz.net, you aren't banned.
If you are banned fgunz.net wont load for you at all.

    For sure a connection problem.
I'm not familiar with any special files you need, but assuming you have all you need....
Make sure that your windows firewall is disabled as well, and if all else fails...

Open the run box on your computer, type in msconfig and press "ok"
Select the radio button that says selective startup, then uncheck the box that says load startup items.
Jump over to your services tab, and click the box that says hide all microsoft services.
Hit disable all after that, MAKE SURE THAT IT HIDES ALL MICROSOFT SERVICES BEFORE YOU HIT DISABLE ALL.
Hit apply/okay, then reboot your computer.
Try to launch the game from that, if it works, there is a program blocking the connection, if not then its your router config.

This will essentially put your computer in a factory state.
A little overkill for a GunZ problem, but don't feel like going through 20 million things.

    ~To Undo~
    ----------------------
    -Msconfig
    -Click Normal Start Up
    -Services Tab
    -Enable all
    -Apply and Reboot.

Seemed like a solid suggestion, didn't work for me though..

What's in the launcherlog.txt file inside of the FGunZ folder?
It's a terrible thing, I think, in life to wait until you're ready.
I have this feeling now that actually no one is ever ready to do anything.
There is almost no such thing as ready. There is only now.
And you may as well do it now. Generally speaking, now is as good a time as any.
