    So i got this 250GB harddisk plugged into my pc and it says ready for use but i cant open it anywhere '-' . Help me please

    So it doesn't show up at Explorer?

    Can you provide some details about the hard disk, like make/model?

    To make sure Windows recognizes the disk drive, open up Device Manager, expand Disk Drives. If it is listed there, then Windows has realized it's there.

    Sometimes the drive needs to be formatted before it will show up in Windows Explorer. You can do this via Disk Management.

    Maybe it's just dead then? You can always try this;

    1. When you turn on your computer, if you place your hand on the HDD, can you feel the vibration of the HDD spinning up?

    2. Does it exist in the BIOS?
