Hi,

I see so many of those threads where peoples ask for new animes to watch that I felt like writing here a "How To" find animes by yourself. Of course, it might always be a good idea to get a review by one of the members here, but you might not want to solely depend on other peoples and their taste.

First of all: http://myanimelist.net/

This is your gold website, it has a summary as well as rating, reviews and anything you could want. It will also have the very interesting "Recommendations".

Choose an anime you liked (or view the list down there). And IT'S VERY IMPORTANT in the style you feel like watching. It's really important because you might be skipping over really good animes only because you feel like watching "darker" animes while this one is some comedy or the opposite for exemple.

Now, instead of scrolling down and only seeing the top 2 (which often ends up in a 5-6 anime loop). Either clic on "more recommendations" at the bottom or clic on "Recommendations" at the top.

For exemple: http://myanimelist.net/anime/953/Jyu_Oh_Sei/

More recommendations : http://myanimelist.net/anime/953/Jyu_Oh_Sei/userrecs

You now got a small to very long list of animes that people suggested. They are usually going in order of pertinence / number of peoples who suggested.

==================== P2

You now found an anime with a decent summary, or that you feel like watching. The next step you can skip, but i strongly recommend doing it. Scroll down a bit and look at the reviews. Ideally, do NOT read them, only look at the ratings. For instance, the previously mentionned "Jyu Oh Sei" got both a 10 and a 9. Those are the two most upvoted% reviews. Once you see numbers which are usually 6+, go ahead and watch it. If it's below it, I might suggest reading the review, they will usually explain why they gave such a horrible rating.

It might seem like rating is all subjective, and yes it is, but it's pretty representative due to a well made system and reviewers.

All that's left is to choose your method: streaming / download, but you probably already know that!

Here's a quick list I put up a roughly 5 months ago. Feel free to look up some of the titles if you need a starting point.
