Just finished base lineart for the upper body... don't know if I will make her a full figure or not. Any suggestions for colors?

I would say, make the hair slightly pink, or a nice color of blue. Those would look really nice ;o

Should I make it a vector, or make the shading smooth.

It depends on what you will do with the picture. If you're already good at illustrator and are planning to scale the character to different sizes. Then use a vector style. Otherwise, just color it normally. What I would do is first color it as a vector then convert it into a big bitmap file to be colored normally; if I have lots of time on my hands. Mostly it just depends on how you work and what you prefer the end picture to be like. And I'm just stating the obvious...

Thats what i was trying to point out, do you think this image would be better for like... a sig, in which a gradient would benefit, or should i keep it a vector so I can use it for like wallpapers and things as well.

Well as i said earlier, it depends on what you do with the image. For me personally, i would just make it a bitmap and color/shade it accordingly. since it is good for both a signature and even better for a walpaper.

Anyways... Make the hair dark purple and the clothes dark purple too so it fits her.
