[SOTW] Theme suggestions

3 weeks ago I saw that Taobaka made a thread about SOTW theme suggestions.
Sadly, I couldn't reply to it because I was busy.

Despite that the topic was closed, I decided to make a new one and give some suggestions not for the next SOTW but in general.

Everyone knows the "Freestyle" theme so I'll skip it.
I'll post an examples if people don't really understand the theme.

Judging by your current signature, I like the way you smudged it.
The only thing I dislike is that you didn't blend the render at all.
I think I can help you learning smudge style but it takes time to master it.

About the style. I would choose vector and abstract, since they're a bit similar. Also anything smudges related will be very hard for most (including me).

That's how you'll learn because it will keep you motivated.

I am serious about a text only theme... text only forces the artist to think about concept rather than technique.

I know you're trying to state, I've seen your thread on which you were taking requests doing .GIF texts.
They looked awesome but.. using text as a theme would be extremely difficult for most of the members, they never experienced something like 3D for sure.
No offense but I wouldn't recommend that one.
