Visually, I rank it in the top 3 anime films I have watched (Out of what, the 100 films I've watched?). The backdrops and lit effects are absolutely astounding.

I read the manga before watching the movie: very nice adaptation. I highly enjoyed this film.

PS. I agree, Eve no Jikan is also a good watch.

Well as a romance there are more anime that fit the style of 5CM rather than films, but here are a few that kind of fit, all in the romance genre.

Hotarubi no Mori e

While visiting her uncle for the summer, six year old Hotaru gets lost in the woods outside the village.
