    Here are some tips:

    - Never resize the render the way you did. You do it by holding shift and dragging one of the corners (after hitting ctrl + T) inwards or outwards.
    - Don't keep the background as sharp as the foreground (in this case you totally screwed up, the render is blurry).
    - Choose your brushes colors from the render itself to blend it in.
    - Don't place random borders, they're so not cool.
    - The ripple effect isn't even showing, a part of it should be in front of the render and another behind.
    - Use some gradient maps on low opacity and try different blending options.
    - Try to let the signature speak, there needs to be a concept behind the signature.
    - Add light effects, there are tons of stocks/packs that has nice effects, download some.
    - Darken up the edges and brighten the focal point, it gives a better depth and a nice look.
    - Don't over saturate it, choose colors that are comfortable for the eyes to enjoy.
    - WATCH SOME TUTORIALS.

Also don't just put a red soft brush on black and call it your background.

soft brush? I gradient it though. XD and added some noise. though I should say the border is a no-no.
made it out of curiosity though the flame effect(?) read it somewhere. XD

Im sure lemonish already explained everything. but to me personally, what ruins it the most is that you stretched the render sideways, you have to hold shift when resizing the render. also the background needs more effects to make it loo less boring. just "cheat" yourself and download a galaxy wallpaper and put it on soft light and add it on top of the background and possibly the render.
