female characters are skinnier, male character builds are HUGE. If you select a male on char selection screen then female, you'll see the difference. So females have a better view of things on the map, the character takes up less space. This is really good for long range shooting with weapons like single rifles, revs, etc. For some, since they are smaller, it feels like they're lighter and faster, so then u play faster, mind games. There's more to it than that, but yeah.
When you are further away from a target, aiming them down with your gun and you are on a male character, it can come to a point where the enemy lines up with your character and you can barely see them. This is the 3rd person shooter game, you want more visibility on your screen as much as possible. It's not really about, "oh my character is thinner so harder to hit" and more of "thinner, easier to hit others"
