I really wish the custom music was fixed.

In normal FGunZ, the background music is set to different parts, e.g. login screen, ingame, etc. However, using custom music, the song is completely random and nothing is set to a specific part.

It'd be really nice if I were able to do that.

The main point of this thread was really to be able to open the bgm.fgz file and see if I can implement my own music from there, but I've tried with practically all file extensions and I can't find anything to open it with (unless I need to open it with a program I haven't got).

Does it really matter if you're going to play a specific soundtrack at login screen or lobby?
Sounds kinda useless to me lol.

    This.

Majority of players use media players and play their playlists anyway.

But it's rather annoying when you hear the same song throughout the login, lobby AND in-game.

Changes to the custom background music is on the to-do list, but probably has been on it for 2 years and will probably stay on that list for a while.
It's also indeed not possible for users to unpack the FGZ files.
It's a terrible thing, I think, in life to wait until you're ready.
I have this feeling now that actually no one is ever ready to do anything.
There is almost no such thing as ready. There is only now.
And you may as well do it now. Generally speaking, now is as good a time as any.
