Suprise me! I'll watch what you're suggesting since a lot of anime are interesting in their own way.

    Alright then Here goes:

Kurozuka - My favorite anime right now. The plot is amazing and unpredictable, the art is great, the music is great and everything is amazing. It starts a little slow in the first 2 episodes and it picks up pace quite quickly after that. But it's not for everybody. More than a masterpiece to my eyes.

Texhnolyze - Pretty neat one. Not too much action though, it's slow paced but very well depicted. This one is even more audience-specific.

Serial Experiment Lain - Need I say more? It's a classic, a great anime that speaks more with pictures than words. Here again, doesn't suit everybody; but it's considered a masterpiece in general.

The Law of Ueki - This one's special. It's of the likes of Naruto, One Piece, etc. But it's quite original. You really have to give it a try without focussing too much on the resume which makes it sounds goofy at first. It's a reasonable length (51 episodes). Worth a try, it starts quite basic, but it evolves quite fast. A classic adventure/action/fighting.

Kuragehime (eng: Princess Jellyfish) - Is an interesting slice of life / comedy kind of ish. It was a great watch and I saw it all in one go. Don't be deceived by the title like I was. It's not what you're used to see nowadays, but it's refreshing and really entertaining.

.hack sign - This is where SAO took it's inspiration. It's sometime slow, sometime fast, quite peculiar. This one's usually a hit or miss.

Shigurui - This one is bloody. And I mean it. But it's not unrealistic amounts of blood just splattered everywhere for effect. It's really interesting, enthralling at some points, others looses you for a moment but then suck you right back in. Some say the first episodes are a bit tenuous, but I found it nice overall.

Legend of the Condor Hero - This one looks a bit older than it is. It's an anime I thoroughly enjoyed anyways. It's an action/adventure one with not so much adventure but... It's a good one. I don't even know how I found it the first time, but I'm happy I did.

No. 6 - An extremely interesting one, it's a sci-fi one with an interesting plot. It will keep you hooked all the way long, and the end was great. Definetly a must-try.

Jyu Oh Sei - This one was my favorite for a long time. And I still remember the story vividly after years. It's an anime that will surprise you and give you a very good story. One of the good points is that you never really know what will happen. There's no "special character that can't die", any character can die, and the wounds are actual wounds that hurt them. Not some bruises after taking a punch that would blow up a mile radius. Definitely a must-watch for me.

Xamd - A nice watch, it has something to it that keeps you interested. It's both the same and very different from everything else. Well, it has action aplenty.

Great Teacher Onizuka - I'm surprised you haven't seen that one. It's a great one and I don't know one person who hasn't loved it yet. Definitely a must-watch. It will make you get attached to the characters, laugh and more.

green green - This one's based on an eroge (porn) but it's only ecchi and it's not hentai in any way. It's actually a comedy. It's usually a bi hit or miss also. I wouldn't put it on a must watch list, but if you're every feeling crude jokes, this one has them all.

bakuman - This one was a sensation when it came out, I'm surprised you haven't seen it. 4 seasons to it I think; I'm not sure. Anyways, the premise makes you think it will be boring, but it's all the contrary. Kind of like hajime no Ippo makes a ring and boxing look interesting, this one will make drawing/writing/creating mangas interesting, and it will pull you in their world.

rainbow - this one's about prison. It's a great one, more on the drama side, but amazing none-the-less.

Hikaru no Go - this one is a MASTERPIECE. There's no other way to say it really. It draws you in like no other, makes you feel what the characters feel and even made go learn a few things of my own volition. It actually made me try the game in this. This one you must must must watch.

Spice and Wolf - This one managed to make me watch it all in one go despite the fact that I was quite tired. It has the spark that keep you interested in something. Not a masterpiece, but you won't get bored, and you'll get out of it with good memories.

Nana - It's about music, but mostly about the relationship between two girls with the same name but that are completely different. It was quite interesting.

Beck - Another one about music, it didn't mark me heavily, but I remember liking it.

Arakawa under the bridge - This one is really good. It's a light hearted anime that's good for just about any occasions. I liked it.

One Out - This one is a mix of baseball and code-geass/death note. It's worth a watch, it's about "outsmarting" your opponent, so if you like that kind of stuff, this one will definetly clic.

Kaiji: Ultimate Survivor - This one is another masterpiece. Yes, it involves gambling, or risk-taking, outsmarting or sometime pure madness. But it will hook you hard, and it will drag you towards the end of the anime. It's an EXTREMELY good anime. You might be taken back by the art at first, but you'll get used to it quite fast, and it's really worth it. It also gives it a different feel from other animes. A must must must must watch. It has a season 2 also I really wish I could tell off whoever made you scared to try this one. It's a must watch... once again.

Akagi The legend of mahjong - This one is about mahjong. By the same director as kaiji (watch kaiji first) it's also a masterpiece. You might have a little bit of a hard time understanding mahjong at first, but it will come quick while watching. Though to enjoy this one to the max, I suggest looking a little 2-5 minute videos explaining the rules/goal.

Dennou Coil - I took a while to pick this one up because I thought it was for kids at first due to the picture on MAL. Wrong, it's not a kiddie one. It's actually quite interesting and worth a watch.

Trigun - This one is a classic, I'm thought you would of seen it also. Vash the stampede... Ah, a famous one indeed. It's great and it's a classic.

Initial D - This one's about street racing. It managed to take something that I find utterly boring and stupid and turn it into something interesting that I literally ate through. Even if car racing doesn't interest you in the least, give it a try.

Prince of tennis - Sounds cheesy, but it's actually a really good one about tennis. You don't need to love tennis to like it. I strongly advise to try it.

Eden of the east - This one's an amazing one also, it's really enjoyable, it will keep you on the edge of your chair the whole time. A must-see

Well, I have more, but I think that's a good list to start with. Hopefully you'll find something to surprise yourself!

Skipping this one. Don't like the drawing style.

What a list! That must have taken some time to write lol.

I'll take a look at it

Those are pretty old animes :/

I just noticed that I already seen Nana and Trigun.
Is there a better version of Texhnolyze with like 720 or 1080p quality?

Well, those were off the top of my head mostly, so it wasn't so bad

It depends, some of those are old, some of those are quite recent. For instance, Prince of Tennis is a tiny older but there's the newest season that came out recently and they are working on the next one right now. So you could say it's pretty actual. Also, there's only so many animes coming out per year. I've mostly singled out the good ones or the ones I thought were interesting.

Sadly, I don't think there is a higher definition of texhnolyze... that sucks and I found it annoying too, but I still got through it. A lot of the pictures are quite dark and the colors meld together really well, so it's not as bad as it could be.

Some animes in there are must-see though, and and most of them actually got some pretty decent pictures, and the only hint that they're older will be the lack of panty shot and sometime less vibrant colors.

Also, some of them are not that old; for instance Spice and Wolf is 2008-2009. Not that old. And considering you've watched Dragon Ball Z (1989 - 1996), I don't think it should be a problem

Then you should of told me you're looking for an anime with nice visual effects. I assumed you were looking for anything that was good/had a great story. Let's see, definitely the 7 deadly sins, that's a recent one. Nice visuals, a linear adventure (go somewhere, find new comrade, go somewhere find new comrade, repeat till full and then big battle). But it's entertaining.

    Xamd is 1080p.

    No.6 is 720p

Eden of the East is 1080p

That's 4 of them, you can start with that(didn't bother to check them all). You can look for the rest yourself I guess; Would of saved me a bucket load of time if you said what you wanted at first like I asked -_-'
