    1.) Level doesn't matter.
2.) You need donators to play at the highest level (CW Mostly) however in normal rooms they're not exactly needed.
3.) Definitely skill over gear. However gear does matter if both players are of the same skill level.
4.) Some people argue that D-style can be on the same level as K-style however that isn't true. D-style will lose due to it having very limited mid-air versatility. If you're starting out stick to K-style but remember to use a proper key configuration or else you might be stuck in a position where you'll have to re-learn everything due to key limitations.
5.) It doesn't matter which you choose however there are some differences which make Female characters preferable for K-style and Male characters preferable for D-style.

1st difference: The muzzle location for mid-air shots (Gear tap for example) is different. Females have the upper hand because their muzzle is off to the right allowing them to shoot around corners with certain timing. Male muzzle is more centered.
2nd difference: Male model is more wide and certain armors can cover your view much more than a female model would. Females have the upper hand here as well.
3rd difference: Female characters cannot yoyo which is a major disadvantage especially for D-stylers (Hence why everyone d-styles with Male characters).
4th difference: Animation is a bit more fluid for female characters.

    Anyway, Welcome to FG.
