I dont understand why most of the threads regarding suggestions get closed without a reason, just because people stopped commenting on them. Either decline it with a valid reason or accept it.

Automatically after 2-3 weeks the thread closes itself, it's just a protection to prevent spam/bumps.

Being an administrator here doesn't mean you should take care of every little thing, suggestions in my opinion should be handled by the developer team but most of them are not online daily, don't forget we're also human and we have life.

wouldn't it be possible then to increase the auto close function you mentioned earlier to 4-5 weeks?

The current one is fine, that's how it goes in most forums though they even lock it by default after a week.

3 weeks are enough for the users, apparently not for the staff.

We usually state a reason when we decline a suggestion.
A bunch of suggestions are not accepted/declined because I simply have no opinion on it or don't know what I'll do with it.
