Suggest me some darkish/badass animes!

I suck ass at looking for animes, I usualy check a trailer and if I dislike it I give up on it.
Hence I need some anime suggestions from people who have seen em and can tell they are worth it! Looking for kinda darkish, horror, action n ?badass? animes.

Steins;Gate - Although it has no action it's got a kinda dark and gloomy air to it a lot of the time. - Also one of my most favourite animes.
