new router = 30ping to own house
old router = 160ping to own house

I don't think my router is old, we just got switched to a new ISP and they gave us all new stuff for internet tv and stuff
How close are the laptops to the router?
If you ping from laptop 1 to laptop 2, it will go like: Laptop 1 > Router > Laptop 2 and back.
Also, WiFi heavily impacts the ping.
It's a terrible thing, I think, in life to wait until you're ready.
I have this feeling now that actually no one is ever ready to do anything.
There is almost no such thing as ready. There is only now.
And you may as well do it now. Generally speaking, now is as good a time as any.
You're most likely connected to each other with NAT and not P2P which causes the lag. We can't do anything about it.
