    Account > Settings > General Settings OR https://freestylersworld.com/profile.php?do=editoptions

    Scroll down till you find Private Messaging;

    Tick on the "Show New Private Message Notification Pop-up" > save your settings.
    From now on whoever PM's you, you will be prompted a message on the screen, make sure you don't use any extensions that might block the feature.

    Ping is useless in that case as we already have pop-up notification function.

    Thanks for the help at first, but I got that already, this idea is more ment for people who are in-game. The suggestions was pretty much like ''Ding'' or ''Ping''

    I don't think this would make any use since to get a private message notification you would have to reload,
    meaning you'd already be on the forum.

    Change forum layout to either Black Orange by Dave or ZTech Red one.
    Head to the shoutbox and click on the settings button
    In the notification box you can write "sent" without the quotes.

    Every time someone PM's you, you will receive a ding/dong sound as on the chatbox the system automatically says "X user has sent you a private message!"
    Once the ding/dong system detects the word "sent" it will play a sound.

    ^Alternative way > be creative.

    Or you just use the existing "email when recieving a pm" function.

    Get a email program like thunderbird, when you receive an email you will get a popup and a sound notification (even customizeable sound).
