Lets say Dave has answered a private thread that other members can not view, it shows a link on the chatbox that Dave has answered in a thread, I get curious and click on that thread but unfortunately I realize that the thread is private soooo lets not be able to see the links of the private topics which we are not allowed to view.

The chatbox is not directly connected to the forums so it's going to be very difficult to do a bunch of permissions checks to see who can and can not see a thread/post.
It's a terrible thing, I think, in life to wait until you're ready.
I have this feeling now that actually no one is ever ready to do anything.
There is almost no such thing as ready. There is only now.
And you may as well do it now. Generally speaking, now is as good a time as any.
