    Suggestion type:
    FGunZ

    Suggestion title:
    New UI system

    Suggestion description:

I'm not talking about just the basic image changes to the lobby, login and game room. GunZ has been sitting in the 'bold and clunky' interface since it's creation. GunZ needs to be modernized to give out a better niche appeal and simplistic feel for current and to attract new players in addition to fast load times as well.

I remember P mentioned a while back that if she had a choice, she'd implement Scaleform. I would disagree with this choice because it uses flash and everyone knows that Flash is slowly being phased out by HTML5.

I did some searching around and came across Turbo badger. With this as the UI engine for FGunZ, the UI possibilities could be endless:

    • Adding new functionality to the UI without hard coding (plugin system).
    • Display more statistics from characters, clans, accounts, etc..
    • Incorporate information for website/forums.
    • Change interface skins in real time.
    • Increase loading times.
    • Smoother transitions.
    • Fancy UI animations & effects.
    • Cleaner, less clunky and modernized.
    • List goes on..

UI = User Interface aka Lobby, shop and such, not the gameplay.

I like the idea, but it's going to be far too much work to implement this. Especially with our limited developer resources.
It's a terrible thing, I think, in life to wait until you're ready.
I have this feeling now that actually no one is ever ready to do anything.
There is almost no such thing as ready. There is only now.
And you may as well do it now. Generally speaking, now is as good a time as any.
