Smokes will lag you wherever they are on the map if you are looking in the direction that the smoke is at, like i said smoke is a hog, mostly likely, you were not experiencing all 7 smoke explosions that come out of a smoke grenade before. I advise you to do what i recommended, right click your desktop and click the nvidia control panel and then go to manage 3d settings. Click the program settings tab and click add, then browse to the fgunz folder and add Launcher.exe, Gunz.exe and Gunz64.exe. Just Gunz.exe should be enough. Then under where it says specify settings for this program, you will find a "power management mode" option, change that to Prefer maximum performance.
The reason this may help is because for a modern graphics card, gunz uses very little when effects are not occurring, so it will go into a lower powerstate which has a slower gpu clock rate and gpu memory clock rate. Normally it should change power states quick enough, but sometimes it can cause issues in certain games. Gunz came out when cpu's and graphics cards didnt really use power saving techniques. ect ect bla bla bla, give that a try.
I am also on windows 10 64bit.
