I bought my laptop last year but I just found out there's a SSD. It's 24gb compared to the harddrive which is 1tb. Now, what I was wondering is if I could migrate any window programs from the harddrive to the SSD to make them run faster.

I'm not exactly sure how all of this stuff works but I've been told if you run windows 10 on a SSD it's incredibly fast. After the update, I've noticed that it's a bit slower than before so what programs could I transfer over to the SSD to make the startup process faster?

Windows 10 itself is near 21GB of a clean install, will be more with updates.
I suggest to get at least a 32/64GB SSD for your windows installation and your HDD for games and such (unless you get 256GB or more SSD so you can get rid of the HDD).

But since it is 24GB you could manage it barely, so go for it!

You can replace the SSD in most laptops. You'll have to open it up and see what the slot size is.
It's a terrible thing, I think, in life to wait until you're ready.
I have this feeling now that actually no one is ever ready to do anything.
There is almost no such thing as ready. There is only now.
And you may as well do it now. Generally speaking, now is as good a time as any.

Are you sure that 1tb hdd doesn't just have 24gb of flash memory connected to it? That's what it sounds like to me, which means you'd replace the entire hdd wth an ssd.

My girlfriend also has a laptop like this and i configured the ssd as a cache for the hdd, i guess thats the whole point of the 24GB SSD's. You can setup ur ssd as a cache with Intel Rapid Storage or ExpressCache. If you 've never format or changed your factory installation its the best to not do anything at all since laptops usually are configured to be a SSHD with ssd's like such. With ExpressCache you can check if one or more ssd's are configured as a sshd
I have to admit, I didn't think it would make such a big difference so get a sshd compared to a hdd. But it is really competing up to a actual ssd. Her laptop boots up in like 5 seconds whilst my desktop takes 2 seconds with an actual ssd and being configured in UEFI and fastboot bios options enabled
