Well, If you want the best, the 980 ti of course, and then 12gb ddr4 ram, then i'd get a 2tb hdd and a 128gb ssd. use the ssd for windows, and the 2tb hdd for everything else.

I don't really download much anymore, and even when i did i didn't even get half way threw a 1TB hdd, which is why i settled for a 512 GB ssd, i was debaiting between 512 and 1 tb, for a while before settling for 512, as i won't use that much storage, even now, the laptop i am on has 465 and i have 419 GB free so i was planning on using the SSD for everything, as it'll be faster, and it has a warranty of 65 GB a day for 10 years
edit: but a backup HDD for redundancy sounds good
