[Help - Error] new laptop gunz acts werid

so I recently got a new pc to play games on, it's an alienware x15.

gunz launcher opens and updates correctly, but when I hit start the game launches and runs gunz.exe for a few seconds. My screen goes black, then it goes back to the desktop. I tried to find the config.xml or w/e the file is to see if the resolution was too high but I can't find it. Help pls?

Did you pass it through your anti virus?

pretty sure I have anti virus disabled but i'll double check.

I just turned off the windows firewall. I'm not really sure what anti virus alienware comes with so i'll try and figure that out. I'll update as necessary.

yeah disabling the firewall did nothing. the launcher just stalls out after the game attempts to start.

I mean it has an 8 core i7 and I got it for cheaper than for what i'd pay to build a new computer, so i'm not complaining.
