Name: Huey Lewis & The News

Date of birth: 98. I'm barely legal.

Languages (Programming and/or other): I feel so ****ing lame listing these. Java, Python, C/C++, Javascript, also I ****ed around with C with Classes for like 2 months when I was 15.

Skills / Experience: I'm a full-time full-stack developer for a company that's built countless million dollar companies. With numerous clients that I've personally worked with being accepted into YTCombinator for funding, I'm extremely confident that I'm good at what I do.

Proof of work: 'ight. Been working with the GunZ source for less than two weeks, but I'd say I have a firm understanding of it. Right now the shit I have to post honestly is somewhat lacking. This thread will get updated as I work on new stuff throughout today. I'm also in the process of replacing all of the irritating(to me) XML storage with a better alternative. I'm honestly somewhat hesitant to spend countless hours on something and figure out it ends up being pointless. So if you'd like to issue me a "challenge" or whatever, I'd gladly accept. At least then I'd have an outline of what I need to do rather than doubting my idea the entire time I'm working on it.

    Anyways, here's shit.
Variable distance. Honestly, there's no way for you to know that I didn't just rip this straight from RGZ. It's literally just changing one float value based on input from the user.

Toggling snow on any map. Works nicely imo.

    Toggling snowflake color.

I've tinkered around with GunZ web stuff before as well. Most of it's using Python/Django/Django REST/Angular js. If not that, pure Flask.

I made this as a concept for an idea I had in like an hour or two on break a few months back.

That was built with Django + Angular2.

Is all proof of work your own work? Ye.

Closing: Honestly, I may not have the GunZ experience you're looking for, but I'd like to think I make up for that with ambition. I want nothing more than to contribute and move GunZ forward as a game. I don't care about source access. Feel free to have me work with whatever source you deem fit. I'm a good developer and this is something I care about. I'm confident that I'll be able to deliver content that will set the server apart even more than it already is. I'm friends with all of the current programmers at FG, and working with them would be an absolute pleasure and something I'm definitely looking forward to if I am given the chance.

I've played this game since I was 7 years old. I'm absolute garbonzo beans at it, but I love it. Being able to work on GunZ with 100% confidence that what I'm making will receive critique, testing, and possibly even played on live servers, is something that would give me a ridiculous amount of joy.

If you have any questions I'm on Discord basically all day and Jetman/S1lent both have my Skype.

Oh, side note: I'm a great web developer. That's the only thing I will call myself great at. If anything's needed, even if it's from scratch, I can do it at a moment's notice.

You have my approval, like S1lent said there's gonna be a trivial task to do most likely.

    Good luck!

    K. Am I chill to write what my task was? 'cause I kinda did in the video. Anyways, it's not done yet because I've been sidetracked by things including but not limited to Supernatural, masturbating, Tapioca pudding, and masturbating.

Worked on it for an hour or so after I had the retarded idea of making teleporters spawn randomly on maps. Was not as entertaining as I'd hoped.

Expect the challenge or whatever to be done tonight or tomorrow afternoon.

I spoke to Hex and he will be updating what he did since this was not quite what the task asked for.

LOL. PHUCK ME. The issue was what was requested was an ammunition pack, like the medkit type drop. Not an ammo powerup. Which is actually 10x easier to do.

    Jesus christ I'm autistic

I was assigned the task of porting over all of our client-work within the past 2 months to Angular 2 today. I worked 13 hours today. I spent about 3 hours working on GunZ stuff.

The reason it's a med kit is because my zitem is ****ed or something else is ****ed. I dunno. Either way, my client spawns rice-cakes instead of bullet kits? I think it's a bug with this particular 1.0 client. Anyways, this feature on live will be multiple ammunition magazines being dropped based on how much ammunition the person you killed had left when they died.

    Description:
Welp. For hours I was ****ing around with AddKitItem, AddWorldItem, SpawnWorldItem, etc. Finally I remembered Secrets telling me I had to make sure the server knew about the item. Where as before I thought that the server was told about the item when SpawnWorldItem set the state of the item to VALIDATED. That is not the case.

This is basically done but I'm tired and promised Link I'd help him with build errors. I'll have a completed challenge video up by tomorrow mid-day.

Completed challenge and sent code to both Jetman & Silent in the Skype chat. I sent them an un-cleaned very rough draft. But it is functional. Whether they want to add more conditionals is up to them. I wrote it how I as a player would enjoy playing it. Whether or not it stays like that before going live is entirely up to them.

tl;dr my task was to make players drop ammunition packs when they die based on how much ammo they had left when they were killed.

I gave them code that has no checks for if the character's currently wielding a melee weapon. That's easy enough, though. I'll make the changes and give them that just to make sure.

    Anyways. asdf we did it

After this I added a quick check to make sure that no more than 4 ammo packs are every dropped when killing someone. Even if they have something like a Renard, the amount reverts to the preset max(4).

Also keeping the items on the ground wouldn't be hard. But not sure what Silent had in mind for that. I'd imagine he wants them on the ground?

The admins and coders will review your code, discuss and come to a decision in a few days.
