    Introduction:
Well it's come to my attention that quite a few players have been asking how to increase your fps. I'll be going over what you can do to not increase your fps but use the maximum potential out of your graphics card.(Excluding overclocking.)
See now you can't necessarily do more than your graphics card can do, your fps depends on your graphics card; meaning ultimately the way to increase your fps is to get a better graphics card. Now with all that said and done, lets say over the months, years, whatever, that you've stacked on some programs, stacked on some services and startup programs, well that'll definitely slow your computer down. Now unless you're like me, i5 quad-core processor, 6 gigs of ram, etc etc. Unless you have a really good computer, those programs, services etc, are going to eat at your processing power. Now you need processing power to process the graphics to your graphics card. (Also to move it to your ram, and everything else it does.) Not only that, but it just does ... bad. Some even tweak your graphics card, all sorts of bad crap. What we're going to do in this tutorial is just try to regain the spirit in your old graphics card.

Now with all that done and said, lets get to the steps!
    CCleaner!!

Something that's going to help just in general is to get CCleaner!!

    Download : http://download.piriform.com/ccsetup316.exe

Instructions: Run the registry scanner a few times, blah blah, but go to tools tab on the lefthand side, then startup. These are your startup programs, they all startup when you start your computer. I'm just going to quickly go over this because it's complicated, google it if you need to. Back on subject, these are your startup programs, you're going to want to cut them down to about 8 or so, maybe lower if you want a faster startup, more if you just don't care. This'll significantly help your runtime, which'll help your entire gaming experience.

    Drivers!!

Updating your drivers!! If you don't have an updated driver, this'll REALLY reduce your FPS. A lot of the times graphic cards seem to just mess up if you don't update the driver!

    Download: http://lmgtfy.com/?q=graphic+card+drivers

    DirectX!!

DirectX is just as important as your driver, make sure it's updated!
    Download: http://lmgtfy.com/?q=directX

    Services!!

Services are your running programs, even the ones in your background. These are very sensitive and you could /BREAK/ your computer! If you choose to do this, it is at your own risk!
Instructions: Step 1: Figure out which OS you have

Step 2: Go to this site: http://www.blackviper.com/
    S
tep 3: Guides > Service Configurations > Find your OS!
    Step 4
    :

You should be at a place that looks like this! Find your OS! Download, then run the registry thing! Restart!
This should significantly help depending on which version you choose, there's default, safe, tweaked, and bare-bones!
Read up on what is what if you're interested! I suggest safe (AT LEAST)!

    Archtype!!

Archtype is an in-game feature that lets you turn down the graphics to nearly just one-color walls! This significantly helps with your FPS! You can also do this manually by editing your config.xml inside your GunZ folder!
Options > 1337 > Archtype Feature [Check the box!]

    Your Antivirus!!

Antivirus is of course good to have, but make sure it's tame! A lot of antiviruses delete things without even telling you just because it THINKS something is a virus, when in reality, it's not! They also like to do a lot of runtime scans and all that! So unless you're mass downloading suspicious files, you should set pre-designated times for your antivirus to do it's daily/weekly scans! (Also in general just HAVING some antiviruses slow down your computer, some firewalls can even dramatically impact your FPS!!)

!Don't forget that your resolution heavily impacts your FPS!

Thank you for reading my guide! There's much more to do, but this is all I can think about.

Note: If you're that interested in overclocking your graphics card (which is completely legal for Gunz), check out this site! WARNING!! This could ruin your graphics card! If you don't know what you're doing, don't do it!!

If you have any ideas, feel free to post them and I'll add them to the guide!!
