Only downside is that people can easily abuse this by creating multiple accounts, using VPN's, etc...

Account bound to ip, requires some auth if the ip is different? Just trying to think of idea's.

Or perhaps a different currency that cannot be traded but able to buy the same items as event or donation items but for a larger amount (that requires quite some login and play time to get 1 donation item).

Perhaps a new reward that is account bound (items and such), this way the VPN stuff shouldn't matter.
