Nobody at a high competitive tier is complaining that hotshot is too OP, most of these other things are novelty. However the mines and EX grenades to me are on a level that disrupts high level gameplay with little to no skill involved. It is cool to have off meta options but these " disabling " items and weapons need to go. Anything that may knock you to the ground, or gives you a flip effect should be removed. Only melee weapons should be able to have that effect, and if you want CC then melee weapons should be your best and only option besides the standard rocket launcher.

When I say competitive I mean any gametype that gives XP. Deathmatch, TDM, anything. The fact that they are not allowed in clan wars ETC speaks to mines poor impact on the quality of gameplay. I agree it's an opinion based thing, that's all I'm here stating.
Please forgive my ignorance. I don't think I ever played on Aeria, if I did it was for a very little amount of time. But when I think of originals, I think back to the former servers, not the latter. Yes most of these items we've named off are all novelty items in the game that have been added over time due to player suggestions. It adds fun and variety to the game.

The little to no skill you're mentioning are specifically those players who just spam all 6/12 mines in one spot and sit and wait. Cheesy? Yes. No skill involved? Yes. But those who don't spam mines and use them in a more meaningful way shouldn't be punished with removing them all together.

You mention high level gameplay, which to me is just "competitive gameplay" aka clan war. No one takes general lobby rooms seriously. You're only calling it competitive because of staff introducing ELO. Had ELO never been introduced, the community would still view clan war as the only competitive side to GunZ.

No, the fact that mines aren't allowed in clan war is due to the fact that people ran to the forums to complain/get their way. As are most of the contents within updates. I can only assume that the reason people petitioned to get mines removed from clan war are due to players abusing/spamming mines, like I mentioned before. If people didn't spam mines and flashes like they do then we wouldn't be here having this conversation. Which is why we should try and fix the spam issue rather than get rid of them all together. Don't punish those that use them respectfully. It takes one abuser to ruin it for the rest.

Typical gladiator mentality, no offense but, not everything revolves around swords. I like the variety of crowd control in the game as it stands now. Plus people back peddle too much to even justify using a sword for crowd control. That's why it's nice to have stuns that you can launch/bounce off walls to catch those that are running. And if you're the one running away, mines are a useful item to use when being chased down to catch those thirsty chasers off guard.

I'm glad we're able to keep our opinions pretty civil and not bashing each other.
