the easiest way i was thinking is that just make some random squares then open your siggy and make it a clipping mask.

Jup, that's the fastest way. but also the most sucky way as you are creating "RANDOM" squares so you could have spots that won't even look good at all ofc you can edit them so it looks right but then you might aswell just slice it into pieces.
