I can't really say anything about the first part, but the second part I cannot agree more with.
People should stop posting 1v1's to boost their ego, because that's the only reason why they post them.
Since 99 out of 100 times they only post their wins, thus showing that they defeated another person, which makes them feel good.
And I don't really think that of this whole community, more than 5 players would actually be interested in this thread, including the winner and loser. So I think that people that post 1v1's have a low self-esteem, and are looking for confirmation on their skills.
