System restore and that backup shit isn't good, I got a private backup cd that will back your computer to the best time when your pc were working as best.

I used the thing that backs your computer up 4 days and it worked, i had a virus and no desktop icons.

Start in safe mode -> backup all your files -> re-install Windows.
