Why do kids claim to play before release?

How can you claim you've played BEFORE the games release? It's ******* ridiculous.

People will argue with me, claiming they're "Old Gen" blah blah blah, talk about some random shit, I'll present some info of the things/events that happened during the old days (Mostly moves created in International GunZ by famous players.) They'll have absolutely NO knowledge of it. People know a move that was created back in the day, and suddenly they're Jesus ******* Christ.

They lie, and when I link them the wikipedia page, they claim it's lying... Yeah Wikipedia and Maiet lie ALL the ******* time...
