I am also having this problem.

However, there are other players from Aeria who've migrated to FGunZ with relatively normal ping to others, according to them. Doesn't GunZ use a Peer to Peer client, rather than a central server? I played with my friend from down the street, and I see him with around 180 ping. I've portforwarded as the tutorials requested.

Gunz is a Peer to Peer game, thats correct.
The only thing the server does is point the people together, after that they are on their own.

Maybe your friend didnt open his ports?
Or just has a bad connection, runs a torrent in the background etc. ?

It is not just my friend. He does NAT, yes, but I have the same problem with players that have migrated from Aeria. As for my local friend, I will get him to port forward. I am seeking an answer to my problem, still.

Well tbh, aeria/ijji has/had more properly optimized server files, obviously provided by maiet.
We on the other hand are doing our own coding for optimization, bugfixing and other things.
But yah, if you guys get a NAT thats most likely due to not properly configured network settings of the respective people.
Could also be not properly configured anti virus software/firewalls.
