    Hello,

Currently, whenever i clic "Play", fgunz crashes my computer. It freezes it to be exact, i have to force shut it down by holding down the power button a few seconds (or unplugging it).

I do not know the reason for that. THOUGH: Freestyle gunz and "Steam" both started having this problem. It's been a week and not solved, I'm starting not to know what to do anymore.

So I was wondering, what are the common points between fgunz and steam, do they both use some kind of engine or something of the kind. Because I can't play gunz neither access steam, both which are extremely frustrating.

    Hoping for an answer,
    -Jawarisin

To to restore your system. Every windows OS has this feature enabled by default. If you disabled it, try to recover your windows with a windows CD.

In the end, playing legit pays off.

I'll be trying that, it pisses me off but I guess there's no other option...
I had completely forgot about that, I was already thinking about formating.

    We'll see how it goes.

Program hangs (also known as lock ups) usually occur when there's a software conflict going on in the background. There are many reasons as to why it has occurred can be a hassle figuring out what the culprit is sometimes. It could be lack of updates, missing files, a missing or corrupted system feature. Keep in mind that it could also be a hardware fault, such as a good RAM stick gone bad, HDD needle problems etc.

Does this problem affect any other programs?
Have you kept your computer system nice and healthy? (Regular HDD de-fragmentation, OS and 3rd party software updated regularly, latest drivers for hardware, stuff like that)

I believe the only common points between Valve's Steam and the FGunZ Launcher are the programming language and the required internet connection.

I'd treat formatting and system restore as final options. And they don't always eliminate the problem either.

Anyway, here's a link to a hopefully useful article.

It makes my computer freeze, tottaly. Even if I press cap-lock, the light won't turn on. No way to access ressource monitor. As for de-fragmenting, I treat this as suicide.

I just hit a problem. I had to fix some HDD issue before it would let me restore, but now i have no restore points left :/

Ok, as you said there's no LED display on your keyboard for capslock when you turn it on, it really seems like a hardware fault.

Are you able to open up your PC? If yes, can you feel any extreme heat coming from any of the components. You can usually also check this in the BIOS, provided the motherboard has adequate temperature sensors. Alternatively, an app called SpeedFan also reports temperatures once booted into Windows.

Does this only occur when you're performing tasks involving FGunZ or Steam? Or does it occur with any application launch etc?

You could also run from diagnostic tests to help narrow down the cause if it is a hardware fault. Lookup memtest.

    Only steam/fgunz

Currently running the gateway restore, we'll see how it goes
