I think the main problem here is that you didn't blend the render with the background. The background matches and all with dem' smudges but right now it looks like two images slapped together D:
So blur and smudge the edges of render and possibly put bits of the background (smudges) on the bottom of the render or something to give it some depth. c:
btw why is everyone doing so many siggies o_o

I feel like the render's like MEH. It is bad. I like the background, but you used more than 2/3 main colors and for this style, certain steps must be taken in order to make it look good. Try using renders that has actual colors, it'll look better if the render is alive.
Also, you need to make it look as it is 1 piece. The render seems to be on top of everything. As Taokaka once said, try putting things in the foreground.
