[CNC] Logo

Some guys from RZ wanted me to make them based off a reference image (which i lost)

First I made a basic vector in Illustrator:

Then I brought it into photoshop and did some basic effects so they knew what they were working with:

Besides being completely generic, do you have any suggestions for me next time I do something like this?

Logos like this really needs the feedback from the original customer. Since they are the ones who will use it.
However, my only suggestion is to increase the spacing (kerning) on the letters. Essentially in the version with the bevel. They look too close together.
Still a great logo but I can't really tell what it will be for tho. I'm guessing an indie game perhaps?

Indie game is my guess as well, they really didn't give me much to go on. They handed me another logo, said they liked the typeface and I ran with it.

I agree with the spacing, the drop shadow/ stroke really lessens it's appearance, so I will have to remember that next time. I honestly don't do stuff like this very often so I am out of practice. My illustrator skills are also weaker than I would have wished. O well.

They were going to pay me $50 but I didn't accept it due to it being incomplete.

I am going home tomorrow for the holidays and the last thing I want to be doing is working on a freaking logo.
