Funny that you just ignored how wrong you were about biology not covering this topic.
My age is irrelevant. Humans are members of the Kingdom Animalia. Please take a high-school biology course.
Let's just let Wikipedia settle this...
http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Animal
http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Human
/cross-referenced
Humans are classified as Animals.Code:Domain: Eukarya Kingdom: Animalia [Animals are a major group of mostly multicellular, eukaryotic organisms of the kingdom Animalia] Phylum: Chordata Superclass: Tetrapoda Class: Mammalia Infraclass: Eutheria Order: Primates Suborder: Haplorrhini Infraorder: Simiiformes Parvorder: Catarrhini Superfamily: Hominoidea Family: Hominidae Subfamily: Homininae Tribe: Hominini Genus: Homo Species: H. sapiens Subspecies: H. s. sapiens
Q.E.D.
Humans are not animal, but humans are members of the Kingdom Animalia.
Check out the Etymology here:

*sigh* I hate having to repeat myself.
Use the SCIENTIFIC definition of words, not the RELIGIOUS definition. For the purpose of this discussion, you wanted to take a scientific stance, right? Not an ignorant one. Use the scientific word then. It's more precise like that, and there's way less argument about silly things like "well in MY house, we think people DIDN'T evolve from apes, so play by MY rules". Just stick to the universal concensus and life is so much easier.
Oooh, one more point. Sorry for the disorganization, I'm kinda wasted. If you look at the Wikipedia entry again, it says that your definition of an animal is a colloquialism. If you will kindly turn to that entry in Wikipedia it clearly states that "colloquialisms or colloquial language is considered to be characteristic of or only appropriate for casual, ordinary, familiar, or informal conversation rather than formal speech or writing." NOT APPROPRIATE FOR FORMAL SPEECH OR WRITING. Aka, gtfo with your colloquialisms. They have no part in an intelligent discussion.
Anyhow, you can't use an unscientific form of the word to prove a point, which is what you were originally doing (remember that?). Use the right words for the right idea. Not that hard.
By the way, its "Humans are animals", not "Humans are animal".
You remind me of the mocking words of my old biology teacher: "I AIN'T EVOLVED FROM NO APE!"
*still havn't forgotten about how you were so wrong with that "THIS ISN'T COVERED BY BIOLOGY" lulz-ness. Palms hit faces across the nation.
