    Overall pretty amazing job, Jess.
Wrong, the lamps are fine and it's the only thing that makes the digital art a warm look at first sight of the piece, usually 2-3 is fine for that resolution, bigger one could use more lamps with different sizes, the one he used as a number and size are fine.

@Jess, keep in mind that you have a dark atmosphere around the mountain and the only upcoming lightning source is from the lamp on the right side (around 96-97°), therefore, you shouldn't be adding colors that would make the mountain lighten/brighten as there is no source behind it, first and original image you posted looks better than the updated one unless you have something in mind for the 2nd one but don't forget the light source, that's important when doing digital art and photomanipulations.

That's behind the mountain itself, not on top of it or facing against the mountain considering the most light sources is from behind and around the edges of it.
My suggestion is that you should draw a boat, I've made a quick sketch for you where to place it and how to keep the darkening/lightning of it but that's something you should draw yourself
