i recently watched it aswell, and i ****ing loved it. The ending was phenominal, i was thinking about it for the rest of the day.
I knew the ending had a good message

but it still made me pretty sad, I just wanted them to atleast talk and possibly Tohnoki could go to her wedding for some closure. idfk, i just wanted Tohnoki to hear that she had moved on and he should to, from her.

That part struck me the most, he hasn't moved on but he's slowly forgetting about everything and moving on in life as a ghost.

He has no idea what he's doing now and what he has been doing ever since his middle school days up until now

He does move on in the end because he has like a moment of clarity, when they were kids and the train separated them, theyd both wait for each other. But as adults, she didnt wait, so he realized that she had moved on and he should too. Also in the manga there is an 11th chapter with Kanae and it is implied he ends up with her (the girl from the second arc of the movie).
