Theres monthly clanwar tournies, what about the 1v1 competitive aspect of gunz?

As we all know, the ego/rage section and other media sections of every single gunz server forum is filled with 1v1 screen shots, 1v1 trolling, etc, people claiming who is the best, etc etc etc. I always thought to myself, (before duel tournament came out by maiet) GunZ the Duel is HELLA competitive when it comes to 1v1s, maybe even more so than clanwars (back then, and I believe it still may be). People went crazy hard core about 1v1s back then even more than clanwaring many many times. And there was no platform for the players to unleash this competitiveness, so the ego from 1v1ners let loose all over the place and I always thought there should be an official place for players to settle things.

I always thought, how come there isn't a 1v1 version of clan war (before DT came out). Then DT came out and in no way could that be competitive because in real 1v1s, you're not allowed to med and you can't see the opponents HP and you don't use JAIL as a 1v1 map (ROFL). Duel Tournament has so much potential to me and can be that umbrella that keeps the ego underneath or at least is the first step to controlling it (note most of my suggestions are about the actual gameplay gunz can offer).

So what after seasonal clan tournies are legitly back and is ran off the top 20 clans or something, I believe if we can have a legit 1v1 ranking ladder system that isn't retarded like DT when it comes to competitive 1v1s, would do wonders.

1. Remove showing the opponents HP/AP (wtf?)
2. Remove items
3. Possible to have some ping limit system? 125+ ping opponents is too much to be a legit 1v1, and that's still high, but still.
4. After DT is settled, the top ranked players can enter for a monthly cash prize 1v1 tournament just as there are with clan wars. Its a legit shame that only clan wars are the main focus, and I believe players will go even more nuts about this game (ego more, more speculation on whos the best, ppl will actually talk about the game and whos the best more often on the forums) if there are cash prize 1v1s. Man watch people train in for 1v1 fights, would be legit sick. I can see the community slowly get better in skill at a faster rate than it is now if this may go through.
5. and finally, seriously have a youtube channel, keep a record of every monthly clanwar tournament fight, and monthly 1v1 if it goes through.
EDIT: #6. Remove the dumb maps like jail, and put something else instead of just taking away. Also make a 1v1 version of town PLS GOD! PLS! Even without being apart of this whole suggestion, a 1v1 version of town; remove the ally and just have the bases and everything in the middle, etc. 1v1 version of CW maps would also be legit awesome, legit.
Agree there is potential here? Or no, and why? Anyway, clanwar ain't the only thing, dun know. dun know.

i agree, but ping isnt that much of an issue in antilead
i dont like the way DT works, imo should just be so that you can queue for 1v1 and get a random player and one to get to 11 first wins, and indeed no meds

but with ping, some players actually use sword and it wouldn't be a real test of all their skills if ping got in the way, that's why I mentioned ping.

I agree , kids always talkin big in clan wars and such and when you are thrilled for a serious match they just camp their asses off , potshot everywhere and dodge qq... Prize doesn't have to that big either , just a small gift of appriciation. I totally support this.

If it be your clan mate you is watching u fight another guy from a clan u just cw'd, and he wants to see some smack, or if its just some guys that wanna see a fight go down after 2 guys were egoing earlier in some game room... watching 1v1s is apart of 1v1 history imo, shud keep that intact.

oh yea, that too, that's cool. Something I noticed, that has the clan fight record, but not the replay beside it... maybe give an option for a clan leader to click on one clan war of theirs in that log and have an option to post the replay for it. And maybe could do the same for 1v1s. but yea I think DT is okay how it is, and save the longer 1v1s for the monthly version. this will build up the hype and ego for the 1v1s per month.

What monthly clan war tournament are you talking about... Awarding a rank 1 clan with $ isnt a tournament.

Lol i agree , we dont have enough players for clanwars , cuz some players are banned by using hack but some players are banned for no reason so they leaving fg . But i agree with DDaggerDD if i am The owner i will add 1v1's if they add 1v1's all players will invite there friends to play fgunz cuz they have prize if he get in top 1or2or3.

Agreed, i dont see clans streaking 24/7 on this server, usually it is one clan streaking at a time because of not enough clans actually clan waring.

You type of people are horribly lazy at times, like by what you are saying now. "dont add any thing that could get popular because i want only cw". If fgunz gets more popular, we could get a larger player base. This has nothing to do with clanwar. If clanwars are dead, the solution is not to avoid any future updates that aren't clanwars. If you want clanwar to be more active, make a thread with your solution. As, this is already an indirect boost to clanwar- more popularity and competitiveness = more active players. Even if it aint new players, people might be more acitigely playing or just actively fighting and no just in training rooms.

One thing I pointed out a while back on clanwars is that there has to be other things for it to be activ-er. Right now the main competitive thing are cws, and after you do so many and get tired, where do you go? Duel? Tdm with room tags? You could go do this, or- If people played many DTs and got bored, they could want to take a break from it and go cw. You need options sometimes to get something else more active believe it or not.

Like back then with no room tag tdms, you go tdm for so looong with ur mates, then you get bord and then you go duel for a while, get a few streaks and possibly go back to tdming. But if there was no duels, i would probably not get that drive back to continue tdming sometimes.

Now that makes sense. We need to get players more active in fgunz. More active players = these players will be more likely to donate for gear. If you just bank on cws, well.... lol. But yea more activity = more money. Thats another thing.

Meh, I say Make All Duels in DBZ and design it so we have a cutscene before each match of the players walking in and taunting when we reach the middle, Then boom DBZ fight.

meh. wait u mean for the regular duel mode..? i guess that sounds cool... idk, but OT, legit aim to get people actively playing. You cant just focus on clanwars, if you cater to the SUPE EGO Competitiveness of glads constantly, constantly cater, if you cater and use the competitiveness of 1v1s, and also finally clanwars, you will definately have a MUCH more active server. When the glad tourny came up, look at how active these glads are now, regardless of their rants on whos better, thats what the owners of the server should want. Thats players talking about the game itself, being active.

Then it comes down to using this potential. After having platforms for each thing, you can make donation swords that look mega cool, maybe a type of long coat that says on the back nr1 glad. Also cater to the questers, maybe make some new donation items they would like to use in quest. You gotta get people more activ-er yo. Thats how you make money on em. Get them actually playing and wanting to advance in some part of the game gunz the duel that they like. N get money.

Maybe bring up something like player wars and rename it to '1v1 wars'. It'll be like CW but only 1v1s and the first guy to win 4 rounds wins since first to 11 rounds takes way too long. Make it in town map only and make it so people cant go to the alley and also disable any items whatsoever. Maybe even let the players only be able to wear a selected range of clothing and guns to balance out the gameplay so people will actually fight each other with PURE skill only. Each time a person wins give them points and it'll work exactly like cw maybe make it so that at the end of the month the guy or guys with the most points gets a prize, coins, exclusive item like a crown or something. If a person's on a streak announce it to the server, more people will come that way like you know if a guy streaks in a duel and you go to the room to stop it?. I guess this would bring more competitiveness to the server since tbh it's been going down lately and also I believe that the best way for an individual to improve skill-wise is to just to 1v1 a lot.

basically- almost exactly what I suggest in my thread. To just mod up duel tournament, instead of making something from scratch, we have DT, it needs to be fixed up a bit but it can work with the fixes I suggest and I believe most agree on them. Also just one map is horrible, imagine clanwar being just one map every time, gosh that would suck right? We would need a line of solid 1v1 maps basically, don't you agree?

I don't entirely agree or your. DT is dumb and needs to be replaced not improved, my post above is what I want instead of DT. Like it's annoying af having to wait your turn for a bunch of people to fight each other. Why not just line up and 1v1 a random person and you don't have to wait for a bunch of people fighting each other It'll be quicker and you get to wait less cause no1 likes waiting... and yea and I guess 1 map is horrible so I do agree on you there. Maybe you should change the maps to CW maps instead of those duel maps since man... the duel hall map isnt the most appealing 1v1 map out there...

I don't agree that duel tourney is dumb, well it is now, but replacing it, nah man. The wait is really that bad? The wait isn't even that long man, and it adds more player community by making people watch, people can talk and converse. The wait is really not long, and you only really have to wait a while for your first match, because after that, many people are knocked out. I like how duel tourney still makes it 1v1s, but includes other people and it feels more like an "online third person shooter" that way. I like including more people, but um, I can admit that there is too many people included with the way DT does it. I would simply suggest reducing the amount of players allowed in by half. hows that?

Also, I suggested the clanwar maps to be used as well but a 1v1 version of them. Like, with town, remove the -- you suggested it in the official suggestion thread I saw. A 1v1 version of each would be nice, right?

because you would make a tdm town, 20 rounds, and the first player to get 11 automatically wins, because say 11-0, then its 11 rounds past and the other guy cant win even by winning all remaining 9 rounds in a row. 10 round rooms seemed too short, so they made 20 rounds and people noticed this. So went like, okay I guess its first to 11.

I know this is up to the admins, but at the same time, I hiiighly recommend doing this, highly 8) , but not just this, but to give a lil something to all the different interests players have so you can get your player base as active as possible. That is the goal, that is all, cYa.

Changing the maps is good, but everyone should know the reason behind these changes that have been suggested;
The goal: To get players that like 1v1 actively playing much more, which can lead to more donations. Take advantage of the 1v1 competitiveness that has been strong since forever, that matches the competitiveness in clanwar
(Read this if then plan from bottom up)
(Note since there would be a dinstinguishd aim for meta dueling if this happens, having room tags like R and Ia would not even be worth a discussion anymore to almost no one. Simply because if there is no aim for certain things i angame, it will be consumed by emergent gameplay, and by what is easily adaptable to. However, if there is a clear aim, and DT, meets standards (no mods, my new suggested shotgun perfect balance idea) Then yea.

8. Then, goal achived.
7. Then, more money, attract more players, etc.
6. Then, if have decent donors that appeal to a duelist, combined with active duelin players
5. If do that, then you will have a constant monthly flow of active players around the 1v1 community
4. If do the previous, certain players will play dt more often to play in monthly tournies.
3. Use new duel tourny and reinforce it by having a monthly tournament that is available to the top 16 Players. or 32, with prize.

well the dt is inactive.. anyways i think it should be replaced or developed to the better, i announce it daily every 30-60 mins, people play a match then they leave the dt channel maybe because there isn't a prize of winning dt

I believe the steps I plotted down will lead to DT being more active. Including: different maps, fewer players or just somethig that will result in shorter wait times and slightly longer 1v1 fights while having DT remain to be a viable compettive option, also, yea. We want to bring as many 1v1ners to DT, and maybe some people just looking for spars. It all should be possible, editing DT. Also, if some clan mates egoing other clan's clanmates in a tdm, it can be settled in clanwar right? the thing which will make the dt improve is to change its maps and to add a monthly reward for top 3 ranks in dt, the duel tourney is all good as its now, no need to change/remove anything. the only two things that should be added, adding a maps + reward for top 3 ranks.

That's basically all that I have said, expect there are other issues like I think it was mr guy said, how most people looking for competitive ranked 1v1s just want to 1v1 and not wait and watch other people constantly fight. It is a valid point. And just rewarding the top 3 ranks imo isn't anything, same with clanwar. I think there should be monthly tournaments that are for the top 16 ranks and reward the top 3 players within those instead of giving it to just the top 3 in clanwar/duel tourney. However who cares, rewarding the top 3 in DT would be okay lol.

But um like in ijji, Seasonal Clan tournaments supported clan wars in general. To get in the tourney, you would have to be in top 32 clans in clanwar. This helped clan war be active and kept people clan warring, gave them a reason. If there was a prize for the top 3 in clanwar combined with this, clanwar would be boosted up so much back then. It can still happen now, even with duel tournament. If there is no seasonal championship that WILL go through and is guaranteed to happen every time, then to make DT more competitive and even attempt to better it, will slowly go down the drain.

i've never seen people complaining about "watching other people fight in dt" lol, if you think that the dt should be changed in the way you explained then they have to re-code it or whatever, but imo i dont see the need of this since its fine as it is now but only need to change the maps and to add a prize for the top 3 ranks in dt as there is a prize for top 3 clans

man watching is pretty bad cause like you can't even see how the player's aiming cus of lead and all that I mean who wants to watch some guy aim at space. People probably don't complain about it cause they're all alt tab well there's really nothing they can do cause dt has always been like that. Also if we're honest here you gotta wait a pretty long time if you advance through dt and wait for the other guys to fight each other and damn the wait... most people once they lose a match immediately just leave to the lobby I guess that gives you some indication on how people just wanna fight and leave.

Yea, man. If people came to 1v1, that's what they want. Although it is very good to 1v1 against multiple different players to face different styles, if you have to wait too long, whats the point if it is just like regular duel rooms, but with a slightly extended 1v1 match at the end of the tourney. Plus it should be easy to just reduce the bracket size, make the final fight a longer match and remove un-wanted maps for official 1v1s, add more maps without having to scrap the whole thing.

Sometimes I leave duel rooms if I have to wait long. When non of my friends are on and I want a 1v1 to try some new moves or just to practice, since for me, 1v1s are good for me to get better to practice things such as lead, aiming, aiming with a new move, etc. I like to have as much time and less down time as possible when I am specifically looking to 1v1. That's one argument. If people do not mind waiting, we do not need a ranked version of Duel to be almost the exact same as the non ranked version. Although it is called duel tourney, but it fails to replicate how the community views 1v1s should be. So I believe just editing the bracket size, at least that, and lengthening the rounds in the final round for the remaining players, would suffice.

Obviously the best solution would be, if it does not take much editing in the code and just a little here n there stuff, which I'm probably wrong, would be to find a way so instead of forcing people to wait to watch the elimination rounds, have everyone fight their elimination round at the same time, meaning, there would be no watching available. Probably not possible, lol. So, shortening the bracket size, is the easiest way, to not give devs too much work.

So nice when you join a duel and they have a tea party where you have to wait 4 minutes for them to play ..

I don't watch people fighting it's waste of time they're just hitting air it's pretty much pointless watching them, most of the time I'm just alt tab watching youtube vids or something waiting for myself to spawn again unless something amusing happens in the game.

dt would be replaced if I had the choice with something called '1v1' wars. If we're honest here not much people mainly play dt cause you need 8 people to play which is why no1 ever joins dt unless of course a staff announces it but most of the time that would only last 1 or 2 dts then everyone leaves and it dies. Well in '1v1' wars you only need 2 people so people might actually PLAY since man 2 people aint that hard to organize. It'll be like CW but only 1v1s and the first guy to win 4 rounds wins since first to 11 rounds takes way too long. Make it in cw maps only and disable spawns and also disable any items whatsoever. Maybe even let the players only be able to wear a selected range of clothing and guns to balance out the gameplay so people will actually fight each other with PURE skill only. Each time a person wins give them points and it'll work exactly like cw maybe make it so that at the end of the month the guy or guys with the most points gets a prize, coins, exclusive item like a crown or something. If a person's on a streak announce it to the server, more people will come that way like you know if a guy streaks in a duel and you go to the room to stop it?. I guess this would bring more competitiveness to the server since tbh it's been going down lately and also I believe that the best way for an individual to improve skill-wise is to just to 1v1 a lot so skill level might go up? Meh maybe make it so you get more exp when u kill a guy. Also maybe do something like what aeria did with the 'Blitzreig' mode. Like every minute of you waiting you get these things called 'medals' which you use to buy stuff at the 'medal' shop.

Good way for ranked 1v1s, of course, also, in your reply, you mentioned disable spawns, but I think u mean random spawns? Because if you kill some1 and they can't respawn.... then you cant continue to 1v1 them lol. Also I do agree with this to be the focused method for a possible future competitive 1v1 auto match system but at the same time, its a shame how bad duel tournament turns out, but making duel tournament more active and playable, versus a ranked + auto matching 1v1 system are 2 different things. So yea I would agree with this, however it may be a lot of work, and it seems to me like the staff don't like a lot of work... even if the suggestion is beast. Also how ijji did it, after killing the same person or in a row or getting kills over n over in a short amount of time = exp lock. exp lock was towards account, not just character on ijji, i believe.

2. a spectating room feature, so people could watch, admins/GMs could watch and check for unlegit. But watching in general makes it fun and example, someone trying to learn dstyle could spectate an advance dstyler fighting an advance kstyler, or spectate their friend, whom is tryin to show you how tocuse a certain technique in a 1v1.

3. Killing the same opponent more than 3 times in a row = no gain in rank/or win and lose + draws. This makes records slightly more legit, one player could have made it to rank 5 fighting multiple different styles and hard opponents, while another could make it up there fighting the same style that they can beat easier than others, etc.

4. Resetting ranks monthly/win/lose/draw, but not points like experience is forever right?

5. Having seasonal 1v1 tournaments, inviting only the top 32 players, keeping it compeitive as gunz can be, have a large cash prize and drop monthly prizes, this is because having monthly prize yet no seasonal or no seasonal tourny with an even larger prize is less favourable. The past had proved that if there are two driving final outcomes, such as a tourny and a prize, people will play one, to get in the top 32 (imagine people constantly playing 1v1s for this, would lead to more player activity which can be used by making donors that appeal to these players.) people would also then play for the prize within the tourny.

5 seems a little too short, and i like the idea of rounds instead of "first to" to allow draws to happen. but if it were "first to" i would say maybe first to 7? 7 Golden number?

it sounds like a good idea but it also blocks the online multiplayer access to these possible 1v1s, spectating where the spectators can only watch and not type (maybe have a spectator chat where only the spectators can talk with each other) and the players fighting cannot see this

why wouldnt u not agree with this? I dont get your argument as to why you wouldnt. If your just killing the same person over and over again, i dont think it should count as a vailid way to rank up.

Once every seasonal, and also instead of awarding monthly $ to the highest ranked players, i think a monthly tournament would do more for the server. The goal is to get people playing more actively (as much as possible), not just to add cool things, cuz if no1 doesnt play it much, no point. Sure cash prize is great but if u have to play more to get that prize (and the admins of this server use that potential and make cool donors or maybe some new type of in game prize, that would have a more positive result towards the goal). So maybe the top maybe 50-100 around there, players, could enter a monthly tourny to compete for a prize that would be smaller compared to the seasonal championships.
