If it's distance lag then there shouldn't be a problem for you to win events. It's incase you're spiking or if your ping is going up and down (forcelag) that we feel the need to kick you.
We don't kick people just because they're 200 ping unless very certain events, there are plenty of people who's 200+ that win EP's.

There's no way to lower your ping.
Ping is the distance between you and other players. If you want a lower ping then you have to move to their country.
It's a terrible thing, I think, in life to wait until you're ready.
I have this feeling now that actually no one is ever ready to do anything.
There is almost no such thing as ready. There is only now.
And you may as well do it now. Generally speaking, now is as good a time as any.
