How to protect your Skype IP from Resolvers and prevent DDoS.

Here is an easier way.

On the top bar -> help -> about skype -> make sure you're on skype version 6.5 or greater.
Then tools -> options -> advanced -> connections -> tick the last box that says "allow direct connections from my contacts only"

Bam, now unless you have a static ip eventually you cant be resolved anymore and sooner or later if a website logs old ip's those will become void anyway.

Microsoft really should've made the service opt-out instead of opt-in but meh.

The only thing that does is hide your IP during calls with people you don't know...

The only thing that does is hide your IP during calls with people you don't know...

Which is how most resolvers grab your ip.
They send a call request to you, you get it -> skype replies for you -> they take your ip from that reply and don't send the confirmation for the call thus you're never alerted to it.

Actually there are ways to grab the IP without needing to call. API methods for Skype, which is an exploit.

Obviously, no need to be rude... What I was stating is that a lot of the skype revolvers I have tested don't ever request a call, even when I have "only contacts" under connection.
